2010 Football World cup squads

Thirty of the 32 World Cup teams play in Warm up games this week. Only Australia and Togo are not playing this week.

The United states face Poland in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Trinidad and Tobago meet Iceland in London and Japan faces Bosnia-Herzegovina in Dortmund, Germany.

Brazil play Russia while Uruguay will be hosted by England, Germany in Italy, Slovakia in France, Ivory Coast int Spain and Ecuador in the Netherlands and Argentina play Croatia at Basel, Switzerland.

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson chose several fringe players for his squad to face Uruguay at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium, missing eight regulars who are injured.

Eriksson has named rookie forward Darren Bent and he has given Wes Brown, Kieran Richardson and Luke Young their chance to put their name forward for the World cup team.

“Everything depends on how many injuries we have,” Eriksson said. “The door is open to everyone, but if everyone is fit then I’m quite sure of 19 or 20 at least.

Brazil is without five injured World cup likelys namely midfielder Ronaldinho, defenders Cafu and Roque Junior, and goalkeepers Dida and Julio Cesar.

While Eriksson is still tinkering with his team his opponents might be setlled on their team line ups.

“It’s not time for experiments,” Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said.
