An offer for the World Cup name tag of the German football national team went for as much as 121,000 euros.
Matthias Blume, a 31-year-old interior decorator from the east German city of Magdeburg, said he discovered the orange name tags with the names of the 32 teams in next year's World Cup finals as he was cleaning up the garbage after the recent draw in Leipzig.
The eBay auction has drawn huge interest from all over the world, as far as Brazil and Australia. The bidding of the World Cup slips began on December 15 at a minimum of one euro.
Meanwhile FIFA, the world governing body of football, has threatened Blume with legal action for trying to capitalize on the name tags.
