France and Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is likely to miss next month's World Cup playoffs against Ireland.
Ribery, who didn't feature in Bayern's 2-1 loss against Bordeaux in the Champions League on Wednesday, has been hampered by left knee tendinitis this season.
According to L'Equipe newspaper, Ribery saw knee specialist Jean-Henri Jaeger in Strasbourg on Wednesday and learned he will be out at least for one more month.
France will face Ireland in a two-leg playoff on Nov. 14 and 18 for a spot in next year's football showcase in South Africa.
Ribery already missed France's last two World Cup qualifiers against the Faeroes Islands and Austria.
