Japan will play hosts South Africa as part of their preparations for the 2010 World Cup at one of the competition's main stadiums in November, Japan coach Takeshi Okada said on Thursday.
The game will take place on November 14 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, where one of the semi-finals will be played next year.
Europe-based players, led by Shunsuke Nakamura who plays in Spain for Espanyol, are expected to join the Japanese team.
After the game Japan will move on to Hong Kong for a qualifying game for the Asian Cup.
"It is good to play a game in South Africa. It will be a good preparation for our players and staff," said Okada.
Japan, Australia, South and North Korea have qualified for the World Cup from Asia.
