Czech police arrested 100 supporters of Dynamo Zagreb here on Thursday in the run-up to the UEFA Cup clash between the Croatian club and Sparta Prague.

"The fans were aggressive towards police who had to accompany them to the stadium," said police spokesman Iva Knolova.

Stones and bottles were thrown at police while Czech internet sites showed photographs of the Dynamo fans giving Nazi salutes.

Injuries were reported to have resulted from clashes in the centre of Prague while, during the early hours of the day, one policeman was injured after tussles with around 150 fans.
