England's footballing authorities said on Monday that they had agreed to extend the first transfer deadline of the season by one day to midnight on September 1. The extension came as this year August 31 falls on a Sunday, prompting the Premier League, Football League and Football Association to make the change. After September 1, clubs cannot make squad additions until January. Sapa-AFP
