England will be without midfielder Michael Carrick for Wednesday's friendly against the Czech Republic after he injured an ankle in Sunday's 1-1 Premiership draw with Newcastle at Old Trafford.
"It's an ankle injury - he'll be out for two to three weeks," United manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Sky Sports.
Jermaine Jenas of Tottenham Hotspur replaces Carrick in a squad which features Wigan striker Emile Heskey, who last played for England in September against Russia and who wins his berth ahead of Portsmouth forward Peter Crouch.
England manager Fabio Capello is using the match at Wembley against the Czechs to fine-tune his preparations for the road to World Cup 2010 in South Africa with qualifiers coming up next month against Andorra and chief group rivals Croatia, who dumped England in the Euro 2008 qualifiers.
