FC Barcelona striker Thierry Henry plans to score more goals following a sub-par debut season in the Spanish league.

"This is a new year and I want to score goals. My goal for this season is to score," Henry said at a preseason training camp.

"Last year, not playing well, I scored 19 goals and I hope to do more this season if I don't have any problems with injuries."

New coach Pep Guardiola plans to use Henry in his favored center forward position in which he became Arsenal's all-time leading scorer.

"Last year, I played on the left side and it was harder to score goals because I had to help (Eric) Abidal to defend," he said.

The 30-year-old France striker isn't worried about his place in the lineup despite speculation that Barcelona is vying to sign former Arsenal teammate Emmanuel Adebayor.

"That doesn't bother me. The same happened at Arsenal ... the coach always bought great players and when you are at a great club like Barcelona, you know this is normal," Henry said.
